Police arrested a 34-year-old man late on Monday in Limassol after they found 51 cartridges in his house.

According to the police, the suspect was first spotted driving a car with two other passengers in the Limassol area on Monday night.

Patrol officers signalled the car to stop, but instead the driver accelerated and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Then the 34-year-old went to the Limassol traffic police and was identified as the person driving the specific car earlier.

Police conducted a search in his house with his written consent, during which they found 51 full 9mm cartridges.

According to the law on explosives, possession of the specific cartridge is illegal.
