Larnaca district administration crews recording the damage in Lympia on Monday

Larnaca district administration crews began recording the flood damage incurred by the Lympia community during Saturday’s heavy rainfalls.

Officials from the public works department were also present in the village on Monday, as they began a door-to-door evaluation of the scale of the damage.

Community leader Michalis Georgiou said that damage to the agricultural sector will also be surveyed, including fields, equipment, crops and associated buildings.

The fire department received about 20 calls on Saturday from residents who mainly sought assistance with flooded basements.
