Coronavirus: 17 people booked after 2,424 checks

Police booked 17 people for violating coronavirus measures after 2,424 checks in the government-controlled areas.

The checks were carried out from 6am on Thursday to 6am on Friday.

Most of the latest checks were carried out in the capital where officers booked two people after 788 checks, followed by Larnaca where three people were booked after 554 checks.

In Famagusta, three people were booked after 315 checks, while in Morphou, where officers carried out 262 checks, no violations were reported.

Eight people were booked in Limassol after 219 checks, while one person was also booked in Paphos after 143 checks.

Traffic, marine and port police also conducted 111 and 32 checks respectively, without any bookings.
