Two men arrested for assisting others enter Republic illegally

Two men, aged 23 and 21, were arrested on the suspicion of assisting four people entering the government-controlled areas illegally, police said on Sunday.

The two suspects were caught on Saturday in an area in the Larnaca district transferring four others in a vehicle driven by the 23-year-old.

Police said they secured a testimony that the two suspects were assisting the four people, aged 20, 25, 26, and 28, enter the Republic illegally.

They were to be taken in court for a remand.
