Melco Cyprus launches anti-Leukemia fitness drive

step challenge

Melco Cyprus, operator of Cyprus Casinos (“C2”) and the upcoming integrated resort (IR), City of Dreams Mediterranean, is launching the philanthropic “Commit To Fitness: The Step Challenge” campaign. The fitness drive is in support of the Karaiskakio Foundation, which promotes bone marrow donation in the fight against leukemia and other blood diseases.

In launching the challenge, Melco Cyprus aims to inspire everyone to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle by incorporating walking into daily life. The campaign goal is to have 1,000 active participants record 50 million steps in total, over November 22-28. For every active participant, Melco Cyprus will make a financial contribution to the Karaiskakio Foundation.

How to participate in the ‘Commit to Fitness’ challenge

The “Commit To Fitness: The Step Challenge” is open to anyone aged 16 and above. Those wishing to participate should download the Pacer app at https://bit.ly/3GVPeo4 and join the “Melco Resorts & Entertainment” team using the invitation code: “MelcoStepChallenge”.

Thereafter, users can track their progress, as well as upload pictures on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #MelcoStepChallenge.

All participants will receive a certificate of achievement, and Melco Cyprus will also hand out special prizes to winners at the Awards Ceremony on December 4.

Commenting on the challenge, City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos Property General Manager Grant Johnson, noted: “At Melco Cyprus, we are extremely proud to be supporting Karaiskakio Foundation to strive towards a world without leukemia. We therefore invite everyone to join us in this campaign, as we believe that together we can raise public awareness about leukemia and bone marrow donation, while further promoting the Foundation’s valuable work.

“At the same time, we would like to help to build a healthier community, by motivating and encouraging others to add more walking to their daily routine,” he added.

Further information about the “Commit To Fitness: The Step Challenge” is available on the event’s Facebook page.
