Amongst the Christmas markets that are popping up, the live music nights and the theatre performances, come a few events that support these four-legged buddies. This weekend, two charity events are taking place to raise money to help dogs in need so, animal lovers rejoice!

On Sunday 28 at Doppio’s Café in Mosfiloti, the non-profit dog welfare organisation, 2nd Chance Dogs, has organised a Christmas Arts and Crafts dogwesome event, as they call it. From 10am until 3pm, the Mosfiloti café will set up a different kind of festive bazaar, with homemade treats for dogs and humans. A market will feature second-hand books, 2022 calendars, handmade Christmas decorations and arts and crafts for children and all profits raised will be going towards enriching the rehabilitation and adoption centre of the dog organisation.

Another event on Sunday aims at helping dogs in need but this one by giving people a haircut! The team at The BarberShop wizart in Nicosia will host a special event on Sunday morning inviting people to get their hair cut, donating all of the sums raised to the Nicosia Dog Shelter. Visitors are also encouraged to bring blankets, toys or food to donate to the shelter on the day. The event won’t just include the salon’s hairdressers and the shelter’s volunteers. Some dogs that are available for adoption will also be at the event in the hope of meeting their forever family.
