Coronavirus: Three businesses and 15 people fined after 2,699 checks

Three businesses and 15 individuals were booked after 2,699 checks for the implementation of coronavirus protocols, police said early on Friday.

Most checks, 1,243, were carried out in Nicosia where one person was fined, while seven people and two businesses were booked in Larnaca after 531 checks.

Four people were also fined in Famagusta after 301 checks, two in Limassol after 234 checks and two, including a business owner in Ppahos following 144 inspections.

No violations were reported in Morphou after 101 checks.

Traffic, marine and port police also carried out 125 and 20 checks respectively without any bookings.

The checks were carried out between 6am on Sunday and 6am on Monday.
