Coronavirus: Seven businesses, nine individuals fined for breaching Covid measures

Seven businesses and nine individuals were fined for breaching coronavirus protocols in the last 24 hours, police said on Saturday.

The violations resulted from 2,544 checks across the island, between 6am on Friday and 6am on Saturday.

Two individuals and four businesses were fined in Limassol from 206 checks, with three more individuals fined in Larnaca from 448 checks.

In Paphos, three businesses were fined from 140 checks while one individual was fined in Famagusta from 301 checks.

Three people were also fined in Morphou after 105 checks.

No violations were reported in Nicosia, where most checks – 1,178 – were carried out.

Traffic police performed 155 checks and the coast guard 11, with no violations repored.

Breaches in coronavirus protocols include failure to wear a face mask or carry a SafePass.
