Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by motorbike

An 18-year-old woman was hospitalised in serious condition in Nicosia after she was hit by a motorcyclist while walking on a road in Limassol early on Thursday.

According to a police spokesman, the accident occurred as the teenager was walking on a Arhiepiskopou Makariou III avenue around 9am.

She was transferred to Nicosia general hospital where she was diagnosed with internal bleeding in her brain and various fractures.

Police said her condition is serious, while the motorcyclist suffered some minor injuries.

The circumstances of the accident are being investigated.
