A 17-year-old was hospitalised in critical condition on Friday after a car crashed into the motorcycle he was driving in Paphos.

Police said the accident occurred around 3.30pm on Thursday on Ellados avenue, when a car driven by a 55-year-old man, under conditions still being investigated, crashed into the teenager’s motorcycle.

The injured minor was transferred via ambulance to a private hospital in Paphos where he was diagnosed with internal bleeding in his brain.

Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was then taken to Nicosia general hospital for further treatment.

The older driver underwent an alcohol test which came back negative, police said.
