Man, 26, dies in Paphos road accident

A 26-year-old man from Britain who was a permanent resident of Cyprus died earlier on Sunday in a road accident in Paphos.

Police said they were investigating the conditions of the accident where Chris Simmons lost his life. The accident occurred at around 7.30 am on Ayiou Georgiou Avenue in Peyia, when under conditions that are being investigated, the vehicle driven by Simmons, veered off course, crashed into a tree, rolled multiple times, and immobilised in a field. Simmons was ejected from the car during the collision.

He was transferred by ambulance to the Paphos general hospital where he was pronounced dead.
