Boys safe after falling into ravine

ambulances

Police on Monday said they helped rescue two boys, 11 and 15, after they fell in a 150-metre ravine in Troodos.

The incident was reported to the police around 12.30pm suggesting the two minors were playing in the snow when due to the ice slipped and fell into the ravine.

A passer-by who saw the accident tried to help the children but ended up falling into the ravine himself, police said. However, he managed to make it out before police arrived at the scene.

Officers from Troodos and Platres stations pulled the boys out of the ravine using a rescue truck.

No injuries were reported.
