President pledges to work with French EU Presidency

President Nicos Anastasiades says Cyprus will work with the French Presidency of the Council of the EU to help materialise its ambitious goals. The President of Cyprus also congratulated the Slovenian EU Presidency, which concluded its mandate.

In a message posted in Greek and French, on Twitter, the President wished all the best to France on the occasion of assuming the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Cyprus will work harmoniously with the French Presidency of the Council of the EU in achieving its ambitious goals for the benefit of European citizens, he added.

In a separate message on Twitter, the President congratulated Slovenia for the Presidency of the EU Council in the second semester of 2021 and its “remarkable work under difficult circumstances, including the coordination of EU response to the multifaceted challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
