Five Nicosia businesses fined total of €3,500 for SafePass violations

A Nicosia business was fined €1,500 after police found a customer without a SafePass in the premises after 687 checks in the district.

Four individuals and four more establishments were booked in the capital for €500 each after staff was found working without a SafePass.

One business was also booked in Paphos for €500 because the manager did not have a SafePass after 153 checks in the district.

The checks were part of 2,144 checks carried out from 6am on Tuesday to 6am on Wednesday in the government-controlled areas.

In Limassol, two people were booked after 184 checks, one person after 498 checks in Larnaca and three in Famagusta following 388 inspections.

No violations were reported in Morphou after 133 checks.

Traffic police also carried out 101 checks without any bookings.
