Newly-appointed FM pays first official visit to Athens

Newly-appointed Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides is paying on Wednesday his first official visit to Athens since taking office.

Kasoulides will be received by the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

He will also hold a bilateral meeting with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias. The meeting of the two foreign ministers will take place at 12pm, followed by extended talks in the presence of official delegations of the two ministries.

The two sides are expected to discuss the Cyprus problem, as well as recent international and regional developments, in the context of the regular exchange of views and coordination between Greece and Cyprus.

Joint statements to the press by the two foreign ministers will take place at 1.30pm.

The meeting between the Cypriot Foreign Minister and the Greek Prime Minister will take place at 5.30pm at the Maximos Mansion.
