Coronavirus: Seven individuals, eight businesses booked for breaking decrees

Police on Thursday said they fined seven people and eight businesses for violating coronavirus measures after 1,959 checks in the government-controlled areas.

The checks were carried out between 6am on Wednesday and 6am on Thursday.

In Nicosia, one person and two establishments were fined after 562 checks, in Limassol four people and two businesses were booked after 227 checks, in Larnaca one person and one establishment was fined after 435 checks, while Paphos officers booked two businesses and one person after 141 checks.

One Famagusta business was also booked after 319 checks in the district while no violations were reported following 143 checks in Morphou.

Traffic police also conducted 132 checks without any bookings.
