President Nicos Anastasiades will head to Brussels on Thursday and Friday to take part in a European Union – African Union summit.

Among other issues, the summit will focus on matters relating to the partnership between the EU and Africa and the implementation of joint commitments, with a focus on growth financing, health and dealing with the pandemic, agriculture and sustainable development, education, research and innovation, the migration issue, security, climate change and energy.

During the summit, Anastasiades is expected to deliver a speech during a roundtable discussion on Peace, Security and Governance, while on the second day of the summit he will also take part in a discussion on migration.

On the sidelines of the summit he is expected to have bilateral contacts with EU and African Union heads of state.

He will be accompanied by Undersecretary to the President Kyriacos Koushos, Deputy Government Spokesperson Niovi Parisinou and other officials.
