Two more people have died from coronavirus on Friday, both women aged 93 and 82, the health ministry announced as 3,020 new infections were detected from 92,720 tests, a positivity rate of 3.26 per cent.
The ministry also added four more deaths from previous days. Two women aged 83 and 84, died on Thursday, while a 29-year-old woman died on March 8 and an 88-year-old woman died on January 2.
The total number of deaths attributed to Covid-19 so far amounts to 895.
There were 107 patients with the virus in hospitals, of whom 21 were in serious condition, including seven who were intubated.
Of the hospitalised patients, 52.34 per cent were unvaccinated, the ministry said.
Another 20 patients who had contacted the virus but stopped being infectious continue to be intubated in ICUs due to Covid.
The new cases were detected from 4,121 PCR tests and 88,599 rapid tests.
Most cases, 2,011, were traced thanks to tests carried out on a private initiative, while another 901 were detected as part of the free rapid testing offered by the health ministry.
Some 231 cases were detected from 1,656 PCR tests carried out privately, while 55 and 83 of the cases were detected during 459 and 761 PCR and rapid tests respectively, carried out for contact tracing purposes.
