Engomi municipality organises Dog Adoption Day

A day dedicated for animal lovers is organised for Sunday, May 1, by the Engomi municipality in collaboration with the Stray Dog Temporary Detention Center, the animal welfare organization SIMBA Animal Aid Cyprus, and the veterinary clinic of Dr. Christina Pougare.

The event will take place at the Municipal Dog Park, located inside the 2004 Olympiad Park (Lycavitos Avenue) from 10 am until 2 pm.

With the slogan “Until the cages are empty!” the event aims to raise public awareness and promote adoption and spaying to reduce the numbers of stray and abandoned animals, an ongoing problem plaguing the island.

The programme includes dog adoptions and microchip installation at a reduced price of €10. Activities for all ages will be offered such as inflatables, tricycle rides, face-painting, a flea market by SIMBA Animal Aid Cyprus and music by Dee Jay radio.

Entrance is free.
