Blood banks depleted, urgent call for donors

The ministry of health has urgently appealed for blood donors stating that the large number of cases and contacts has reduced blood donations, with the result that blood banks are significantly depleted throughout the country.

Members of the public seeking to respond to the call for donation can do so at the following centres:

In Nicosia on Saturday 16/4 there will be a blood donation at Engomi Station at 8:00 am- 5:00 pm and at the 40th Scout and Diver System at 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, while on Sunday 17/4 at the Biomedical Club at 10:30 am – 1:00 pm and in Kyperounta in the Multipurpose Hall of the Church at 10:00 am.

In Limassol on Saturday 16/4 at Agios Georgios Havouzas Station at 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 pm and at the centre 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, while on Sunday 17/4 in the Municipality of Germasogeia at the Cultural Center at 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

In Larnaca on Saturday 16/4 at Therapeio at 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, while on Sunday 17/4 at Athienou Othellos at 10:30 am – 1:00 pm.

In Paphos on Sunday 17/4 there will be a blood donation in memory of Michalakis Alexandrou at 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 pm, at Coffee Brands Geroskipou.

Monday 18 April, Tuesday 19 April and Wednesday 20 April, all stations will be open until 7:00 pm.
