Two men caught with hunting rifle

Game wardens out on patrol have booked two individuals caught with a hunting rifle at night, and outside the hunting season, the game service said in a post on Facebook on Friday.

In what it described as a serious case, the game service said that wardens on patrol in the Vounaros area of Ypsonas in the Limassol district at around 11.30 pm on Thursday spotted a car moving suspiciously which they managed to stop. During a search they found a hunting rifle and 61 cartridges.

There were two people in the car, one of whom was known the game service for similar offences. The same individual regularly publishes photos on social media with a large number of hares during the hunting season.
