The international youth event Youth 4 HEALTH took place in the village of Agros shortly before Easter.

Organised by the group Youth Dynamics, the event was attended by 68 young people from Greece, France, Hungary and Cyprus. The project was co-financed by the European Union, and implemented under the Erasmus + programme.

The exchange focused on health and active lifestyle and young people participated in sports, discussed healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits, as well as worked in groups to brainstorm ideas for public events to boost health awareness.

Key topics of focus included rising obesity, processed foods, mental health issues, and lack of physical activity, the repercussions of which are affecting younger people at increasingly high rates.

Participants had the opportunity to present the work of their organisations, discuss best practices in all areas of wellbeing, and the benefits and challenges of informal health education outreach.

As part of getting informed, the youth visited the Cyprus Sports Medicine & Research Center, where they learned about preventative health interventions and negative indicators for longevity, as well as about the tools used to promote health and wellness of athletes in training.

Upon completion participants received the ‘Youthpass’, an EU-recognised certificate of skills acquired.
