Police said on Tuesday they are seeking a 25-year-old man for a series of alleged offences including kidnapping, burglary, theft and assault.

An arrest warrant has been issued against Klitos Rossides following a complaint made on Monday afternoon by a 67-year-old man in Nicosia.

According to the police report, the alleged victim said a stranger deceived him into letting him into his home, who then asked him for money at knifepoint.

The suspect then allegedly drove the 67-year-old man’s car with him inside to an apartment he owns in Strovolos, stealing more money and some jewellery using threats.

He then allegedly drove the older man to a number of bank branches in Nicosia, where he withdrew money from several ATMs.

The 67-year-old man also alleged that the younger man picked up a second suspect and they eventually drove to a secluded area, abandoning him there.

The suspect’s information and photograph have been published on the Police News website. Anyone with information can contact the Citizens Line at 1460, or their local police station.
