Τwo men, aged 41and 34, have been arrested in relation to the premeditated murder of a 60-year-old Paphos resident last year.

The older suspect, who lives in Trachoni, was arrested late on Tuesday in Limassol. After his arrest, he told police he felt unwell and was transferred to the district’s general hospital where he is treated guarded by officers.

Following a tip-off, police also arrested a second suspect, permanent resident of Paphos, around 6am on Wednesday.

Investigations started after police received information about a fire that broke up in the Dasoudi area of Anarita around 7am on July 15, 2021.

Officers who arrived at the scene found a car which was completely destroyed in the fire with the body of the 60-year-old victim in the back seat. The deceased was working in Limassol but had a house in Nata in Paphos, police said.
