A 24-hour bakery in Geroskipou was targeted by robbers in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police reported that the perpetrators allegedly stole 1,100 euros before fleeing.

According to the spokesman and head of the Paphos police department, Michalis Nicolaou, the robbery was committed by four masked individuals at 04.30 on Sunday.

Nicolaou stated that preliminary examinations showed that one of the four perpetrators remained outside the bakery, while the other three who were armed with baseball bats, entered the premises and stole approximately 1,100 euros.

Police sealed off the area, while CCTV in the area was being examined.

Nicolaou appealed to the owners of overnight establishments to keep the entrances to their businesses locked during midnight hours, advising staff to open optionally, in order to prevent similar incidents.
