Teens admit to setting car, moped on fire

Two minors, aged 12 and 15, have admitted to their involvement in a fire that took place in Larnaca on June 5, during which a moped was completely destroyed and a car was severely damaged.

Around 7.20pm on Sunday, police were informed about the fire and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene.

They managed to extinguish it completely, but a moped parked nearby was destroyed in the process and a car suffered extensive damage.

A police statement released on Thursday said that investigations carried out in the past days brought to light the involvement of the two minors, who were brough in for questioning and admitted their involvement in the fire. The police questioning took place in the presence of the minors’ lawyers and guardians.

The motives of the incident were not yet made public, but the case is still under investigation, the statement concluded.
