The National Guard on Saturday announced that the Nikitis-Dimitra 2022 military exercise was successfully concluded.
The exercise was large-scale and was conducted on land, sea and air. Government agencies and services involved in providing support to the National Guard also took part in the exercise, under the coordination of the central Emergency Civil Planning Service (Kypsea) of the ministry of defence.
The National Guard said that the objective of the exercise was the training and participation of all staff in decision-making processes, their execution of instructions and orders in a period of tension, crisis and operations, as well as the training of all departments in cross-cutting operational scenarios.
The exercise also sought to train the staff in the evaluation of all operational tools and mobilisation systems and plans, as well as the implementation and testing of the logistics system.
“The results of Nikitis-Dimitra 2022 confirmed the perfection of the design, the detailed preparation, the accurate and efficient execution, as well as the high level of combat capability of the units, factors that contribute to maintaining and increasing operational readiness,” the National Guard said.
