Paphos man arrested for drugs, stolen property

A 22-year-old Paphos resident has been arrested on suspicion of drug possession and the possession of stolen property, police said on Saturday.

A police report said that around 9.30 pm on Friday night, officers stopped the suspect’s car for a search in a Paphos road.

During the search they found a plastic bag containing 5g of methamphetamine, a precision scale,  €1,710 in cash and a £5 note, which were all seized.

The 22-year-old was arrested, and police obtained a search warrant for his house.

During the search, a plastic bag containing 3g of cocaine was found and seized along with various electronic devices, cameras, paintings and other valuables. The suspect could not give satisfactory explanations as to how they came to be in his possession.

The Paphos branch of the drug squad (Ykan) and Paphos CID are investigating the case.
