kiti theft

A 32-year-old bank robber who pleaded guilty to stealing from a branch earlier this month was sentenced to eight months imprisonment by Larnaca district court on Friday.

He was found guilty of stealing money from a branch in Kiti.

The incident occurred on June 1 at about 11:15am when the perpetrator entered the Kiti branch wearing a cloth mask which covered his nose and mouth.

Brandishing an object, which has not been publicly identified, the man took the cash from a register and threatened those present not to follow him.

Larnaca and local Kiti police soon secured details against the perpetrator and located him in Dromolaxia at about 1pm on the same day.

Reports later stated that the man had frequented the branch.
