JRCC operation rescues struggling diver

A diver with fluid on his lungs was rescued on Tuesday after he got into difficulties while diving at the Zenovia wreck off the Larnaca coast.

The Larnaca search and coordination centre JRCC received information about the man at around 10.20am.

The centre immediately activated the national special search and rescue plan Nearchos, mobilising a port police vessel as well as an ambulance.

After the diver, who had suffered pulmonary oedema was rescued, he was transferred via ambulance to Larnaca general hospital for further treatment.
