police2

Three people were arrested in Larnaca on Wednesday as part of an ongoing clampdown on illegal and undeclared work, police said on Thursday.

The campaign is being carried out by police and labour inspectors. The three individuals arrested were found to be working and living in Cyprus illegally.

Their employer was summoned to the police station where she was charged and will appear in court at a later date.

Police added that in other checks in Paphos, a 41-year-old man found to be working illegally and his employer were both charged in writing.

And a 34-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca Airport on Wednesday morning as he was preparing to leave the island as police investigate a case of circulation of a forged document and illegal residence in the Republic.

Police investigations continue.
