Anafotia woman rescued after ground collapses under her

A woman who fell into a pit in Anafotia village in Larnaca, was rescued by Emak, Cyprus’ search and rescue team on Sunday.

In a post on Twitter, fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis said that the woman fell into a 4-metre deep pit after a sudden collapse of the ground in the yard of her house.

A rescue harness was used and after the woman was placed on an immobilisation stretcher to pull her out.

She was handed over to an ambulance which took her to the A&E unit of the Larnaca general hospital.
