Success for Cypriot fighters at New Era Championship

On Saturday night, the New Era Championship took place in front of the beautiful venue of Finikoudes beach in Larnaca.

Until 1am, the fighters delivered exciting national and international kickboxing and Muay Thai fights. Almost 700 spectators came to watch the numerous fights. Despite the heat, the athletes gave their all and performed a great show.

In the main fight, Stephanos Sotiriou (All Powers Gym, Cyprus) won a spectacular fight against Joe Le Maire (Unit1 Gym, UK). The fight was held under professional A-Class rules. Le Maire dominated the first round, but, from the second round on Sotiriou made it clear who was the better fighter on the evening displaying good technique and strong punches and kicks, winning the match on points.

In the second international A-Class fight Eleonora Filippou (FiveStar Sport Center, Larnaca) met Alexa Amos (Unit1 Gym, UK). Filippou clearly took the lead from the first round. After three rounds and a very strong performance she claimed the winand brought her personal achievement to a new level.
