A pub in Pallouriotissa was damaged after a fire broke out on the ground floor of the premises, the fire department announced on Tuesday.

Firefighters received information about the blaze at around 3.38am.

Three fire engines responded to the scene and the fire was brought under control a few minutes after 4am.

From the fire and heat, the pub was extensively damaged.

Premises close to the establishment and parked cars were also at risk of being engulfed by the flames but were protected, the fire department said.

The exact causes of the fire will be investigated in collaboration with the police.
