Sinking boat rescued off Pyrgos

A sinking boat with four people aboard was rescued on Saturday evening by the Larnaca JRCC search and coordination centre, it said on Sunday.

At 8.30pm on Saturday the JRCC received information that the boat was sinking in the sea off Kato Pyrgos.

The search and rescue plan Nearhos was immediately put into action which saw and patrol boat and speed boat of the marine police dispatched.

The people on the boat were found and rescued at 8.44. They were all said to be in good health.
