Paphos police seize sound equipment, laughing gas

Paphos police on Saturday night raided three establishments in Paphos, confiscating sound equipment that violated regulations on noise pollution, they said.

Two sound consoles, two amplifiers and five speakers were confiscated. Two of the premises did not have a  licence to play music, police said.

During the checks, officers also confiscated 103 ampoules containing nitrous oxide (laughing gas), 119 balloons and five canisters.

At the same time, a 29-year-old person was arrested for staying in the country illegally.

The managers of the properties in question have been booked and are expected to appear before the court at a later date.
