Two injured in hospital after road collision involving drunk driver

Two people are being treated for injuries in Limassol general hospital after a road collision between two drivers on Sunday night in Limassol. One of the drivers was found to have a blood alcohol content five times higher than the legal limit

According to police statement, the collision occurred at around 11:00 pm on Franklin Roosevelt Street when a 27-year-old resident of Limassol lost control of his car, crashing through the dividing island and entering the opposite flow of traffic, to collide with a car driven by a 45-year-old man, also a resident of Limassol.

The collision injured both drivers, who were taken by ambulance to the Limassol general hospital where they were kept for treatment. The 45-year-old suffered a sternum fracture, while the 27-year-old has fractures to his right ribs.
