A 32-year-old Limassol man who had been wanted for a string of burglaries and thefts was remanded for six days by the Paphos district court on Tuesday after his arrest the previous day.

Police had identified and issued a warrant against the 32-year-old suspect in August, when two gold rings and a gold chain were confiscated from a Paphos second hand shop after they were determined to have been stolen.

The man was taken to the Limassol Kalo Chorio police station and subsequently transferred Paphos for further investigation.

When interrogated, the suspect allegedly admitted to committing four cases of burglary and theft (two in Paphos and two in Limassol) during which he stole the gold items as well as money.
