Cyprus and Israel strengthen health cooperation

Cyprus and Israel are strengthening their cooperation in the fields of health and medicine with the signing in Tel Aviv on Wednesday of a plan based on existing agreements.

The plan was signed by the health ministers of the two countries Michalis Hadjipantela and Nitsan Hotowitz. The five-year plan aims at improving the quality and provision of health care in both countries.

Accordingly, the participating countries will promote their cooperation in the fields of emergency preparedness, treatment of complex medical procedures and rare diseases, prevention of communicable diseases, organ transplantation and organ donation, food safety and environmental health.

Moreover, international conferences, meetings, and other events to be held in each country will also be promoted.

In addition, the two countries will promote the development of direct cooperation between their medical and research institutions.

Evaluation meetings, if and when needed, will take place in both Cyprus and Israel.

During the signing event, the two ministers focused on the strengthening of the cooperation between the two countries and the excellent relations shared between Cyprus and Israel.
