Global Gaming Awards Asia 2022 honour Melco CSR efforts

Melco Resorts & Entertainment, operator of Cyprus Casinos (C2) and the upcoming integrated resort City of Dreams Mediterranean, Cyprus’ first integrated resort, has been honoured by Global Gaming Awards Asia 2022 as Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year.

The Asian edition of Global Gaming Awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the gaming industry, saluted Melco’s proactive contributions and innovative CSR initiatives to give back to the community it serves. The category nominees comprised over 100 operators, with seven companies short-listed, and the finalist was selected by the judging panel’s 30-plus industry executives in APAC.

“We feel honoured to be recognised by Global Gaming Awards Asia for our efforts in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Melco Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho.

“Throughout the course of the pandemic, we have listened to society’s morphing needs to provide timely, proactive solutions,” he continued. “Our Simple Acts of Kindness volunteering initiative, now in its second phase, enables our colleagues to devote their working hours to the betterment of the community.

“The Company will continue to devise and implement meaningful programmes to provide support to those in need, in collaboration with our community partners,” he added.

About Simple Acts of Kindness

Since 2020, Melco CEO Ho has deployed the company’s workforce en masse to support the Macau local community during work hours, encouraging colleagues to care for others through Simple Acts of Kindness. The philosophy is based on the principle that little things can have big impact, and each person can do something to touch people’s hearts.

In 2021, the company recorded well over 16,000 occasions of CSR participation, taking part in more than 1,100 volunteer activities, which included efforts to benefit the elderly, children, SMEs and other community stakeholders, via collaborations with local NGOs and Melco’s community partners.

Today, Melco continues to offer warmth and care to the local community through Simple Acts of Kindness 2.0.
