Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will hold bilateral and trilateral meetings with a number of his counterparts in New York as part of his visit there to attend the 77th UN General Assembly, the ministry announced on Friday.
Among others, the foreign minister will attend a dinner to be hosted by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on transatlantic relations, while he will have a bilateral meeting with the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland.
According to foreign ministry spokesperson Demetris Demetriou, during his stay in New York Kasoulides, who leaves for the US on Saturday, will participate in high level meetings on various issues related to effective multilateralism, addressing food crisis, combating online sexual violance and child exploitation, UN peace operations and the International Criminal Court.
Kasoulides will also attend two separate trilateral meetings of the foreign ministers of Cyprus, Greece and Armenia, and of Cyprus, Greece and Egypt.
Also, he will hold on the sidelines of the General Assembly, bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Greece, Armenia, India, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Iceland, the United Arab Emirates, Andorra, Norway, Morocco, Guyana, San Marino, Ghana, Senegal, Gabon, North Macedonia, and Moldavia.
Moreover, he will have contacts with the Head of the American Jewish Committee, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the UN High Commissioner for the Alliance of Civilizations.
