Agriculture Minister Costas Kadis is taking part in the EU council of ministers of agriculture and fisheries meeting in Brussels on Monday.

Ministers will discuss the current condition and protection of vulnerable marine ecosystems, agricultural aspects of the directive on industrial emissions and the expansion of large carnivore species in the EU.

Ministers are also expected to discuss current EU food labelling rules and the need to improve them.

Additional topics include the state of agricultural production and supply chain issues in Ukraine, and the proposal for regulation on sustainable use of “plant protection products,” that is, pesticides that protect crops or desirable or useful plants.

During his stay Kadis will also meet Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides.
