Short films on the big screen

1

October will bring a series of short film screenings to Limassol as an annual festival returns. The 12th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus presents selected films directed by Cypriot and international filmmakers, offering the local audience a unique opportunity to enjoy the best of global short film cinema.

At Rialto Theatre from October 8 to 14, the festival will showcase a long list of fiction, documentary and experimental short films from across the globe, curated by Artistic Directors Ioakim Mylonas and Alexia Roider.

Fifty-six films representing 28 countries are part of the agenda this year as the festival welcomes two competition sections for new and cutting-edge voices from the local and global film scene. Five established professionals, with an active presence in the contemporary film community, will decide on the films of the National and International Competitions that will receive awards in the form of cash prizes and services.

In the framework of this year’s edition, TSFM Word-Frame Cyprus will also be held, from October 10 to 14 October, an international intensive educational workshop taking place for the first time in Cyprus in collaboration with Torino’s Talents and Short Film Market (TSFM), which aims at guiding eight directors and/or screenwriters in the making of short fiction or a hybrid film.
