Limassol Agora welcomes October with a fun fair

karagiozisweb

Continuing its tradition of monthly funfairs on the first Saturday of every month, Limassol Agora is hosting another exciting one-day event on October 1. Shadow theatre, art stalls, traditional food demonstrations, tavli tournaments and more activities for all will take over the centre this weekend.

Events for old and young, locals and tourists will begin from 10am onwards. For those interested in the island’s traditions and tasty treats, a palouze and shoushouko demonstrations will be on at 11am and at 2pm showing visitors how the sweets are made. Various stalls around the Agora will also be selling local food such as resi, meat cuts, loukoumades, koupes, Cypriot wine and commandaria.

A pop-up coffee shop will offer free Cypriot coffee to passersby as they browse a mini-market of local artists and their creations. Think ceramic art, paintings, candles and iconography.

As always, a shadow theatre performance starring Karagiozis will be on twice, as well as a tavli competition where everyone can participate. A workshop teaching children how to make necklaces and bracelets will be on while a game’s corner will invite visitors to solve puzzles, play chess and get to know more board games.
