Oman will donate €1 million to the renovation works at the Kebir mosque in Limassol, the public works department said on Tuesday.
According to the department, the renovations will cost approximately €1,088,755 and will take 15 months.
Works on the mosque began on September 30.
The project concerns maintenance works as well as conversions to the existing mosque complex, as well as the construction of an auxiliary building for functions of the mosque.
The mosque and the surrounding buildings, which have been declared historical, are in Limassol city centre, between Genethliou Mitella and Zik-Zak streets.
