A fire that broke out in the basement of a hotel in the Pernara area of Protaras has prompted the precautionary evacuation of hotel guests on Friday night.

According to fire service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the Famagusta fire service responded to the fire with two fire engines.

The source of the fire has been located in the basement and firefighting teams are working to extinguish it.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s guests were evacuated as a precaution.
