Recital promotes musical creation and peace

The Laboratory of Instrumental Music Education and Research (IMER) of the European University Cyprus, in collaboration with Technopolis 20, host the world-famous duo Duo Delangle this Sunday. The duo from France consists of Claude Delangle on saxophone and Odile Catelin-Delangle on piano and their recital will feature works by Skoryk, Messian, Schulhoff, Markeas, Creston and Brahms.

Soloist, researcher and pedagogue, Claude, one of the greatest contemporary saxophonists, stands out as the master of the French saxophone. He is a professor of saxophone at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and has collaborated with many renowned orchestras and maestros all over the world, including Berio, Boulez, Takemitsu, Piazzolla and others. He is an invited saxophonist in the Ensemble Intercontemporain, as well as a collaborator with Selmer Co.

Odile is a professor of piano and chamber music at Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris. She has collaborated with various soloists and has given recitals all over the world with a wide range of chamber music repertoire. Overall, she has participated in more than 15 recordings with the BIS record company and has performed in 80 premieres of works by Denisov, Taïra, Nodaïra, Hosokawa, Louvier and others.

This weekend, they take the stage of the Paphos cultural centre to enchant audiences with unique musical pieces.
