Man arrested for car arson in Nicosia

A 55-year-old man was arrested for arson on Friday morning. According to a police statement the car, which belonged to a 37-year-old man, was set on fire in the early morning hours on Thursday in Nicosia.

Members of the police and fire service rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire, which had caused extensive damages.

Examinations at the scene revealed that the fire had been set maliciously, and testimony was obtained against the 55-year-old suspect for committing the arson.

The man was arrested with a court warrant and detained.
