Police are investigating an incident at a Limassol high school on Friday during which pupils and staff were injured.

According to police statement, a scuffle broke out between pupils attending the school and minors from another school which teachers intervened to break up, resulting in minor injuries to at least five people.

The altercation appears to have started when the brother of a pupil, who on Thursday was allegedly beaten up by a classmate, went to the school accompanied by two friends to demand an explanation.

The minors then got into a fight with pupils from the school and others from a neighbouring school, who also arrived on the scene.

Police at the scene were able to identify two of the outside pupils involved, who were taken in for questioning.

Investigations are ongoing.
