Police arrest man, 23, for 13 kilos of cannabis found in suitcase

Police arrested a 23-year-old man at Larnaca airport on Tuesday afternoon for possession of 13kg of cannabis.

“At around 2pm on Tuesday, November 1, members of Ykan in cooperation with customs officers, located a baggage in the possession of a 23-year-old man, who arrived at Larnaca airport, from a foreign country. Four nylon bags were found in the baggage, in which there was a quantity of cannabis weighing about 13 kg,” a police statement said.

The young man underwent a preliminary drug test which returned positive, and he was arrested for the offences of illegal import and possession of drugs for the purpose of supply.

Larnaca Ykan continues its investigation.
